Each Monday we feature the Designer of the Week. One of our editors pick their favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries.
This week Lynn from ExpeditionD picked Marcie A.’s Color Craze barrette. Lynn noted, “Look at the great colors, the fused glass cabochon and it’s right in the spirit of the Challenge, Farbstudie Quadrate (Color Study of Squares) by Wassily Kandinsky. Love this, it’s a barrette instead of a necklace and I can so easily see it being worn with lots of summer outfits, great use of the beads and the gorgeous Art Bead in the center! It’s called Color Craze, and it scratches all my favorite color itches for bright, zany colors.” To see more of Marcie’s work visit her blog.
Want to see your work featured on the Art Bead Scene? Our theme for the month of June is Kandinsky’s abstract circle painting. The deadline to enter for the monthly prize is June 30th! Create something that combines the theme with art beads and then send in your submission for the June Challenge.

The colors, the pattern, the way the small motifs connect with each other and move around the piece. Happy sigh.
