Stunned, elated, shocked…. does not adequately describe the feeling, when you read the email from your editor that says you are on the cover of Belle Armoire Jewelry. I think we all have goals or ambitions when it comes to our jewelry making endeavors. Since the beginning of my “publishing” career about 3 years ago, I’ve always wanted to make the cover or be the featured artist for a Stampington & Company magazine. And while the featured artist continues to elude me, I now have a cover to frame. Woo hoo!
Anyway, it is super cool and I wanted to share with you a couple of other designers that I thought were noteworthy that use or makes artisan beads.
Anne Marie Desaulniers makes “Wooly Landscape” pendants, such wonderful mixed media pieces. They are like mini works of art, with both color and texture. You can find her work at artfuldreamer.blogspot.com.
Instead of using paper to make beads, Adelina Srinivasan, uses patterned/batik silk to make tube beads. I really love the depth of color and shine that the silk adds to Adelina’s designs. I don’t think that there would be end to design possibilities with this textile. You can see more about Adelina here.
And, of course, Brooke Bock, is a an amazing mixed media artist and bead maker. It seems like her creativity and range is never ending. I’m always delighted to see where she has gone to next. Her polymer clay beads are a staple in her creations. You find Brook here.
And below is a quick layout of my pieces that were included in this June’s edition of Belle Armoire Jewelry. You all know that I love wire and artisan ceramic beads. As you can see below, you will find Heather Powers, Humblebeads, Jill Stoffregen, Foxpaws, and Terri DelSignore, Artisticaos, mixed with wire and vintage charms and a lot of work done on Now That’s a Jig!.
Thank you for sharing part of your day with me. I hope you enjoyed my wanderings. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or comment below.
