Fall has finally come officially and I am feeling like Margaret in Gerald Manly Hopkins poem. I am "grieving the unleaving," the loss of summer, the bright greens, blues, reds and the subtle pastels, the new buds, the emerging weeds and growing grasses. So on a very foggy cool morning a few days ago I set out in search of what I like to call Beautiful Decay. What follows is a photo essay of what I found. When I returned home with very wet shoes and my phone filled with pictures, I was feeling much better about the changing season and inspired to get into my studio and create. I hope you have been inspired too. Thanks so much for stopping by. See you next month when I will share with you some art beads inspired by my Beautiful Decay photos. Mary
